Dan Lok

There is a good chance that you don’t know that much about Dan Lok, so I am going to share 10 facts about this millionaire businessman that should help you become more familiar with who he is.

1. He Is a Successful Public Speaker

While it is becoming more common, not all successful entrepreneurs and investors find the stage a comfortable place to be. Personally, the stage is my place of escape where I can share myself with the world. Dan Lok also finds solace in standing on the stage in front of thousands of people and sharing his wealth of knowledge in the area of business and finance. He has established himself as one of the world’s leading motivational and informative speakers.

2. He Has Mastered the High-Ticket Sale

As a person who has conducted multitudinous business endeavors online, I can tell you that one of the most difficult things to master is the consistent sale of high-ticket items. Don Lok has become so good in this area that he is known as “the king of high-ticket sales.” I am not sure I would call him the king. There is some beast out there like Frank Kern and Russel Brunson, just to name a few. But, Don is definitely one of the top players in this arena.

3. A Top Global Consultant

When it comes to building 7-figure empires through high-ticket items, Don is one of the sought-after consultants in the world. You can kind of say that Don is one of those lucky people who worked hard, became rich, and is now paid for being rich. In other words, Don gets paid a lot of money to tell people how to do what he did. Can it get any better?

4. He Has a Rags to Riches Story

Those who know me, know that I spend a lot of time studying successful people; however, I only study those who started at the bottom or close to it. This is because I cannot relate to people born with silver spoons in their mouth. At one point, this highly successful businessman was buried in debt, but he decided that he would take the necessary steps to change his fortune, and he has not looked back.

5. Moved From China to Canada When He Was 14

While being born in China, Dan’s parents decided to make a move when he was a teenager. At the age of 14, he and his family moved to Canada with the hopes of starting a new life. As you can imagine, there was a bit of culture shock for the young teenager. His dad had gone bankrupt while in Hong Kong and he and his mother were living in a small one bedroom apartment. There were barely getting by. But it gets worse.

6. His Mother and Father Divorced

With his father remaining in Hong Kong and experiencing financial struggles, Dan and his mother were forced to get by on their own. This was no easy task. His father was not able to send money and Dan’s mother had a limited skill set that limited her earning potential.

7. He Failed 13 Times Before Experiencing His First Success

This is the part that people rarely hear about. The manner in which the media presents those who have experienced success, it leads people to believe that they have always been successful or that there is something special about them that other people don’t have. Dan admits to failing at 13 ventures before he finally experienced success.

8. He Believes in the Power of Mentorship

Dan not only mentors others but admits that his life changed the day he met his business mentor. He says that his mentor taught him everything from the concept of marketing and branding to copywriting. It was the solid support and guidance of his mentor that gave him the confidence that would underwrite his success.

9. He Warns Against Unrealistic Expectations

Dan believes that one of the top reasons that so many people fail is that they have unrealistic expectations. Personally, I hate the word “unrealistic,” it is to close to “impossible” and “can’t,” but I definitely get where is coming from. People tend to see the success of others without considering the time, energy, and effort they have put into it.

10. The Only Thing He Regrets Are His Moments of Desperation

Dan says that if he could change anything about his past he would not have started all of those foolish business endeavors that ultimately ended in failure. He says that he entered those ventures out of desperation, which doomed them from the start. He is not saying that you should act with urgency but desperation will make you try anything.
